How do I know if 50 MB is enough space for my website?

In our experience most websites are between 1mb and 10mb in size. Therefore, 50mb is likely to be more than sufficient for your requirements. If you find that it is not, we are able to offer additional space.

How many e-mail addresses do I get?

Your hosting account provides 20 POP3 mailboxes, 20 autoresponders and unlimited e-mail aliases. This should enable you to provide every person or every department within your organisation with their own address. In the event that you require more POP3 mailboxes, an additional 20 can be provided for a modest one-time charge.

What is the sign up process?

Simply go to our order page and follow the online instructions. You will be asked to pay in advance by credit/debit card for the first 30-day period. Your payment details are completely secure. Your card will then be charged automatically every 30 days.

What form of payment do you accept?

All web-hosting accounts are paid 30 days in advance by credit/debit card. We accept Visa, Visa Delta, MasterCard and Switch. In view of the very low monthly cost of the account we are unable to accept payment by cheque or offer credit facilities.

How long does it take to set up my new account?

Your account will normally be set up the same day. You will receive notification by e-mail together with the details necessary to access your account and online control panel. You should note that it can take 24 - 48 hours for a new or transferred domain name to become active on our system.

Are there any hidden fees?

As we offer only one account at one price there are no hidden charges. The only additional payments that you may be asked for are the modest one-time charges relating to the setting up of some optional facilities such as an SSL secure server facility, mySQL database, etc. All optional facilities are clearly marked.

Are there any set-up fees?

We do not make any charge to set up your account. The only time that you will be asked to pay set-up fees are for the provision of some optional facilities such as an SSL secure server facility, mySQL database, etc. All these are modest one-time charges.

Will you place any ads on my site?

How do I transfer from another provider to you?

Go to the order page and follow the transfer instructions that appear there. Once we have the details necessary to transfer your domain name it can take a further 24 - 48 hours before the name becomes active on our system.

What kind of technical support do you provide?

Your account will incorporate a comprehensive knowledge base that can be accessed from the online control panel. In the event that you are unable to resolve your query by this means we offer further technical support via e-mail. We aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours. If your query is of an urgent nature we will treat it as a priority and deal with it as soon as possible. We do not offer support for matters relating to third-party software or cgi scripts.

Do you offer dial-up Internet access accounts?

No, we do not offer dial-up facilities. You will continue to access the Internet using your existing Service Provider.

Do you support FrontPage Extensions?

Yes, FrontPage extensions are available as an option for a one-time charge of £10.00 (+ VAT). These can be installed and uninstalled via the online control and are compatible with FrontPage 98/2000.

Do you offer password-protected directories?

Yes, you can password-protect any directory within your website using the online control panel.

How do I transfer files to my web site?

Files can be uploaded and downloaded at any time using standard FTP software.

What is your spam and bulk e-mail policy?

As we do not provide an SMTP server facility all your e-mails will continue to be sent through your existing Service Provider. However, you should note that we do not permit websites that engage in any spam or bulk e-mail activity to be hosted on our system. Please read our terms and conditions for more information.

Do you offer E-commerce or shopping cart programmes?

We do not offer these as part of the web hosting account. However we do offer both e-commerce and shopping cart facilities as part of our web design services. Are there any file types you will not host?

Yes. Due to the negative effect sound, video and streaming files have on the overall performance of our server and the extra bandwidth these type of files generate, we do not permit the hosting of .wav .mp3 .wmv .mpeg .real or .avi files (or any such video, sound or streaming media files). Macromedia flash files are however permitted. Please refer to our terms and conditions for more information.

Can I register a domain name without purchasing a web hosting account?

Yes, you can register a domain name by visiting the Domains section of our website. You will find full details of the services that we provide with every domain registration - including our special offer of free web hosting for one month!

How do I cancel my account?

You can cancel your web hosting account at any time by giving us notice in writing at least 7 days before your next payment is due. We do not impose any minimum term for your account so there are no penalties. We do not provide any refund for the unused period of the current month for which you have paid.
